Lazio is a region in the centre of Italy. The coasts are washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The capital city is Rome, which is famous for its history and which attracts many tourists every year. The area is known for the production of olive oil, marmelade and liquers. Lazio is also an area of volcano lakes, gorges, olive groves and wine yards. It is also possible to ski here in the winter or to do sports in seaside resorts or in lakes during the summer. There are also many thermal mineral water springs as a result of the volcanic activity. Apart from famous Rome, it is possible to visit other beautiful cities such as Tuscania, Montefiascone, Bomarzo or Montecassino.
